7 Cups feels one-sided and meaningless
...See more While being a listener I try to do my part of helping 7 Cups as however much I can through online and offline outreach. Referring to people in need. Following the 7 cups socials etc. But I don't think I'm getting the same support back. On March 17th, 2024, I started my Psychology themed I n 's t a g r a m page. Being a Psychology student to share everything that I've learned, raise awareness help spread the word further, and break stigma. Once I posted on a few forums to promote this new page of mine as it would help me if I could reach a new audience to help me with my mission, and it got deleted by the forum managers as it was possible to search my personal account as it was mentioned in the bio of the Psychology account (FYI My personal account has always been private, meaning that no one could access any of my personal images and misuse them etc) I accepted that decision with respect and utmost understanding. Later on after removing my personal username from my psychology account bio, again in hopes of gaining some support from friends who visit my profile, I wrote a short note, mentioning my username on my 7 Cups Listener Profile Page bio section. Which serves as my personal space. It wasn't that I wanted to promote the page for personal gains or I was sharing my personal images out there. A few days later when I checked my 7 Cups bio for some reason, that Promotion note mentioning my username was vanished. My personal profile page got manipulated by the admins here and the reason is unknown for now. Being on 7 Cups feels meaningless, as if I'm just giving out my all without receiving any support back. All the rules and regulations for Listeners are suffocating me. I'm posting this on the forum knowing that it might get deleted too. But I just had to say this. I don't care if I get kicked out of here.

Setting Healthy Expectations
...See more Setting realistic and healthy expectations is important for your life and your overall well-being. We also have expectations that we set for ourselves called self-expectations and these are important to have but they should be realistic. Often we find ourselves in a cycle of setting expectations for ourselves that are too high and we may even find that the expectations we set for others vary greatly from the ones we set for ourselves.  Self-expectations can hold us accountable for our actions, and provide guidance and clarity in times when we may be struggling to see where we need to go in life. It can be difficult to set expectations for ourselves but when we do we may find they help us to achieve our goals. Remember to give yourself time, practice self-kindness and allow yourself space to set realistic expectations and it is okay if you do not meet your goals in a set timeframe! Keep trying and day by day you are making progress.  How can you set expectations for yourself?  Determine your expectations early on and try to define them and this can help you set a roadmap for yourself and a journey from A to B on where you are going next. You may want to think about what you want in your life and how you can take the next small step to achieve this.  What happens when I do not meet my expectations?  This is so common that people feel they do not meet their own expectations in life and it often comes up in my therapy sessions with others and a question I am asked often. It is okay to be where you are right now and it is important that you try not to ruminate on not meeting your own expectations but to focus on letting go (this takes time and lots of self-compassion so be gentle with yourself!). Reframing the thoughts you may be having may help you. Often these thoughts can be self-critical and you may find that talking to yourself like you would talk to a friend can help you make sense of not meeting your expectations… yet! Letting go doesn’t mean that you should ignore how you’re feeling but acknowledging your feelings and where they come from can be useful in becoming more self-aware.  How can I practice positive self-talk?  Positive self-talk is so crucial to our success in life if we are constantly doubting ourselves we may find that we are not able to meet our goals as well as we could be. Using a growth mindset can be useful to overcome negative self-talk too and if you look at opportunities as a space to grow from and flourish it can help you to feel more confident about setting realistic expectations. Writing down your goals to help you track progress and writing down positive affirmations in a journal can help you identify useful affirmations that work for you. ...See more "Someday we'll look back on this time and wonder how we got through it. I have no idea how we'll do it, we just had to so we did." Continuing to push through when you don't want to, is a choice, *you* make, that's how you'll get through it. Through believing in yourself when you feel you don't have a reason to, by keeping the glimmer of hope alive in your heart when you've lost what it means to be hopeful and by crawling forward when you were stuck to even consider a direction! Spoiler alert, but *you* are the fuel that'll drive you through! And so, make it through, not because others tell you to but because you've got to tell yourself someday that you did, that you didn't give up on yourself when no one else held your hand. Make it through, for you, because you're the best freaking thing ever happened to you, and the world, there was room for you here that's why you're here, there is need for you here and that's why you're here, you are worthy of existence, of admiration, of kindness, of love and that's also why you're here~ amongst the bright galaxies, the magical mountains and the serene rivers~ because though, the world looked spectacular as is with all the natural wonders, it still wasn't complete without *you*, the most special wonder, who makes it whole with their mere presence. Your purpose in life isnt to question meaning for your life, because it was always there. We don't question the Sun about why it choose to rise from the East, we accept it as a universal fact! You know what else is a universal fact? That you were always meant to be here, that you are a worthy presence as you are, that you have everything in you that you'll ever need to be here. That you are accepted, you are valid, you're loved as you are with a significant space in the universe only reserved fo you and no one gets to question it otherwise, because this *(yo)unIverse* is certainly inclusive of (you) and I, without you, it'll never be whole, nor the same.💛
